As a member of a car club I often wonder what inspires others like myself to join such an organization. Certainly the cameraderie, the sense of being part of a big family, is an important factor. The club I belong to is devoted to all Volkswagens, old and new. The question for others fascinated with these cars is, What got us interested in Volkswagens in the first place? There are probably as many stories of inspiration as there are dandelions in my front yard every Spring. With that said, here is mine.

Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) of Rochester, MN made its first effort towards an effective, service learning based, study abroad program by leading a group of 14 students to Cambodia over Christmas break. The purpose of the course was to study Intercultural Communication. However, more importantly, the focus was the student s corresponding service learning projects, all designed to help certain Cambodian orphanages and schools while increasing awareness between Americans and Cambodians. Through their course and project(s), RCTC students uniquely experienced first-hand the many facets of international education and communication, and, with a cheerful willingness, in their own small way helped further an integrated, educated global community.

That is why they need to have golf carts. But if you have your own golf carts, who is going to be the one to fix it when something goes wrong with it?

When you are looking to purchase golf carts you need to keep in mind that they are just another car type machine. And like cars they need regular maintenance if they are going to keep working like they

should for years to come. And even when they are taken care of to perfection things can still go wrong. Look at cars, you can buy a brand new car and the first day you get it home the engine can go on you, that is just bad luck. The same thing applies to golf carts.

Cranbrook, BC, is home to the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel and is the largest city and service center in the East Kootenay region. Many parts of the city date from 1898 and self-guided walking tours are available with maps obtainable from the Chamber of Commerce, or from the Museum.

The Canadian Pacific Railway played a major role in the development of Cranbrook. Much of the original railway infrastructure built in Cranbrook still survives, providing a good context for the development of the Railway Museum.
